MTV EMA winner Justin Bieber is preparing to set the record straight once and for all about Mariah Yeater’s paternity allegations. TMZ reported yesterday that the 17-year-old “Mistletoe” crooner has agreed to take a DNA test once he returns to the States, and that his team will then go after Yeater in court for trying to scandalize his reputation. Says TMZ:

“Our sources say Justin’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, contacted Yeater’s attorneys Friday and conveyed the DNA test WILL happen… Once the test shows Justin is not the daddy, Justin and his team will sue her. We’re told Yeater’s lawyers appeared ‘nervous’ when they heard the news.”

Today the site received an official statement from Yeater’s lawywers, Lance Rogers and Matt Pare: “We are encouraged that Justin Bieber will voluntarily take the paternity test. That is the only way to definitively determine who the father is. The paternity suit was filed in good faith and it will continue despite the threats.”

On Friday, Justin appeared on the Today Show before flying to Ireland for the MTV Europe Music Awards, and he commented on the entire matter when asked about Yeater by host Matt Lauer.

“I just think it’s crazy, because every night after the show I’ve gone right from the stage right to my car, so it’s crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations,” said Bieber. “But to set the record straight, none of it is true.”

Do you think there’s any merit to Mariah Yeater’s claims that Justin Bieber fathered her three-month-old baby? Or is it going to wind up being case of this:
