David Cook’s “Fade Into Me”: At Your Request

It’s time for another dose of our new project promoting daily aural health, At Your Request — the show where we promise to fulfill your every song command (so long as they’re under under five minutes and sound better than this). We continue our video series with an Idolator reader who’s burning to hear from David Cook, the throaty American Idol champ who released his second major-label album this summer. Watch us cook up our response below, and submit your favorite tunes via Twitter (@Idolator, #AtYourRequest) now — tomorrow’s episode could be all about you.

Our request today comes courtesy of @lizajanebucket, who commanded us (Loud and clear) to play David Cook’s “Fade Into Me”. The song, co-written by Kevin Griffin of alt-rock band Better Than Ezra and pop songwriter Jamie Houston, is the second single off Cook’s latest album, and we were more than happy to oblige Liza. (As David told us earlier this year, “there’s never a shortage of good music. Sometimes you’ve just got to look for it.”)

This is not our last goodbye, we’ll be back tomorrow with another round of At Your Request. So while we get on decorating posters to cheer on David at next year’s L.A. Marathon, be sure to tweetFacebook or comment below with your song suggestions.

Just give us an artist, their track and a little reason why you want us to break it down. We’re like that genie in a bottle Christina Aguilera used to sing about.
