Rebecca Black Drops New Single “Person Of Interest”

Apparently, the title “POI” was a bit too confusing for people — we could have sworn Rebecca Black was releasing a song about the Polynesian staple food — so instead we get “Person Of Interest”, the 14-year-old’s new single. The song, attempting to be some sort of dancefloor anthem without having any spark or sense of urgency whatsoever, sounds perhaps a little too similar to Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”. (Did they think it was cool to crib Katy’s song since Rebecca appeared in the single’s video?) If you’re a person who’s interested in this song, you can hear it below.

Rebecca Black – “Person Of Interest”

We’ve never heard someone sing the words “There’s a crime scene on the dancefloor, ring the alarm” with such delicacy. She may as well tack on whispered “Please?” (She seriously should take some tips from Beyonce on how to shout out “ring the alarm!” with the necessary attitude.)

Is it worth even reviewing this song? It’s Rebecca Black. If you’re buying this on iTunes, you know what you’re in for.
