Madonna Album Rumors: Sia Collaborates On Ballad “Trust”

Though Madonna won’t be eligible for an Oscar in 2012, that shouldn’t quell her fans’ excitement for her 12th studio album. (It didn’t get voted “Most Anticipated” by Billboard readers for nothin’!) According to Drowned Madonna, Madge has followed in Christina Aguilera’s footsteps and has collaborated with Sia on a ballad. Being that the Sia-penned ballads were the best thing on Bionic, we’d say this is a wise move.

The duo’s collaboration, called “Trust”, was produced by William Orbit and reportedly sounds like Madonna’s 1985 single “Live To Tell” and her 2000 Music track “Gone”: “Incredibly melodic, full of layers and harmonies, and background vocals. All strings and flutes.”

There will reportedly be four ballads in total on the album, including Madonna’s “Masterpiece”, which is currently avaialble as a free podcast on iTunes.

Are you excited for the musical melodies Sia and Madonna came up with in the studio?

UPDATE: Unfortunately, they’re called “rumors” for a reason. According to Sia (via her Twitter): “Sadly none of my submissions made the new Madonna record. ‘trust’ if it exists, was not written by me. Rumor!” Our holidays just got a little weepier with this news.
