Just call this Year Of Stars In The Sick Bed. First Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon wound up in a hospital in Aspen while suffering from minor kidney failure, and now Jason Derulo has gone and fractured his neck. The “Fight For You” crooner tweeted this pic of himself to his fans yesterday. More details have emerged about the seriousness of Derulo’s injury — the main one being that he’s been forced to cancel his world tour in support of current album Future History. Derulo’s world tour was to kick off in Glasgow on February 23. “To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained,” Jason said in a statement. “My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.”

According to a press release, Derulo landed directly on his head while attempting an acrobatic move. He suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra, and was rushed to Memorial West Hospital in Miami’s Pembroke Pines.

Despite his injury, the singer was pretty lucky. Doctor informed Derulo that the accident could have left him paralyzed. He’s now been released from the hospital but will have to endure the inconvenience of wearing a neck brace for the next few months.
