In the solitude of his home, Adam Lambert scribbles down his thoughts and turns to music for comfort and inspiration in the preview clip for the “Better Than I Know Myself” music video. He also appears to have plenty of oxygen on tap! The video is “like a cousin” to Lambert’s 2010 visual for his smash “Whataya Want From Me”, the singer told MTV News recently. And as for the song? “[It’s about] that moment where you’re like, ‘I need you, I love you,’ where you have to reassure your partner,” the recent birthday boy said. “No matter what kind of relationship, everybody can relate to that moment.” Watch below.

Like with “Whataya Want From Me”, Ray Kay directed the “Better Than I Know Myself” video. The full clip is set to premiere on Friday (February 3).

“I definitely wanted to take a more hands on role in the video concept and the whole process,” Adam said in a behind-the-scenes look at the clip. “I think what [director Ray Kay and I] came up with was a nice twist on the song ‘Better Than I Know Myself’. I think when viewers see the video they’ll look at the lyrics a little bit differently than may have first considered them.”
