OK Go Get A Musical Assist From A Chevy In Their “Needing/Getting” Video

For their incredible video for “Needing/Getting”, OK Go have initiated a new member into the band — a Chevy Sonic. The infinitely creative foursome — still rockin’ those primary colors! — teamed up with Chevrolet for their newest clip, which features over 1,000 instruments (288 guitars, 55 pianos, and 1,157 homemade instruments) set up over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. And who (or should we say, what) is playing all those instruments? The Chevy, of course! Be amazed.

The video (which premiered during the Super Bowl) was directed by Brian L. Perkins and the band’s Damian Kulash, and took a total of four months of preparation and four days to shoot. The Chevy was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments as it passed by as Kulash sang live as he drove along the track.

And yes, that really is Kulash behind the wheel. He took stunt driving lessons, so kids, don’t try this at home. We should probably say that about every OK Go video, actually.
