UPDATE: Whitney Houston’s autopsy has been completed, but police have put the results on security hold, E! News reports. Though authorities have said there are “no obvious signs of criminal intent”, the decision to delay the autopsy’s results has led to speculation that the investigation into Houston’s death has taken an unexpected turn.

Houston’s body arrived at the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office Sunday morning (Feb. 12), 11 hours after she was pronounced dead at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, according to CBS News. (Houston’s body remained at the hotel while Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy event took place elsewhere in the building). Separately, TMZ has reported new details surrounding the tragic death of the pop superstar yesterday, on the eve of the 54th annual Grammy Awards.

The site notes that people in Houston’s circle were well aware of the fact that she took the prescription drug Xanax to deal with anxiety issues, and “she told them she always took it before big performances”. According to the site’s sources, Whitney was also found underwater in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel yesterday. The singer’s stylist, hairdresser and two bodyguards were in the hotel room with her, says TMZ, and they became worried after she had been in the bathroom for over an hour.

TMZ reports the following:

“Our sources say they began to knock on the door and there was no answer. We’re told the hairdresser, who is female, went in to check on Whitney. She immediately screamed and, according to our sources, one of the bodyguards came running in and pulled her out of the tub… According to our sources, her body was very cold and the bodyguard attempted CPR. That’s when hotel security was called. “

As noted yesterday, no cause of death has been announced yet, but Los Angeles police stated that an emergency call was placed at 3:23 p.m. on Saturday saying that Whitney Houston was unconscious on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Authorities arrived within two minutes, but attempts to resuscitate Houston failed and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Houston was due to attend Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Awards party at the hotel last night.
