Robin Thicke may have had some issues with the cops last week, but that didn’t stop him from paying tribute to Whitney Houston. The R&B crooner covered “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” from the 1995 hit soundtrack from soon-to-be-revisited film Waiting to Exhale. The stripped-down version features Thicke’s liquid vocals over simple piano. Hear it after the jump.

Although there’s no denying our love for Houston’s original, Thicke lends his signature sex appeal to the track, turning it into a love song worthy of a bedroom playlist. But the single best thing about the recording is that Thicke wants us have it for free.
“This is my tribute to the great Whitney Houston,” he tweeted. “Sending my prayers to her family.”
