Kelly Rowland took the stage at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night and belted out a soaring rendition of “The Greatest Love Of All” during Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday celebration. Most people know the song as a Whitney Houston classic, but it was originally recorded by Grammy winner George Benson for the 1977 Ali biopic The Greatest. Naturally, the poignant timing of Rowland’s performance resonated for both those attending the boxing legend’s festivities and fans of Houston, who was laid to rest yesterday in her home state of New Jersey. Watch Kelly take on the ballad below. Stevie Wonder, who also performed at the event, played piano during Kelly’s performance. Others in attendance included David Beckham, Samuel L. Jackson and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

What do you think of Ms. Kelly’s take on “The Greatest Love Of All”?
