It must be incredibly difficult to deal with your private problems while in the public eye, but Demi Lovato is up for the challenge. In the trailer for her upcoming MTV special Demi Lovato: Stay Strong, the “Skyscraper” singer admits that she initially hated being called a role model. “I had so many issues underneath that needed to be taken care of,” says Demi, name-checking depression, bulimia, and cutting. “I’m not fixed. This is a daily battle,” she adds. “But I continue to work my butt off, because now I want to be a legitimate role model.” Watch the 19-year-old pop star visit her treatment facility and deal with her first Thanksgiving since leaving rehab in the trailer below.

Demi Lovato: Stay Strong airs March 6 on MTV at 10 p.m.
