Adele’s ’21’ The First Album To Sell 2 Million Copies In One Year On iTunes

Recent Brit Award and Grammy winner Adele has racked up another stellar achievement: her sophomore LP 21 has become the first album to go double Platinum on iTunes (i.e. it sold two million copies) within the span of a year. This comes the same week 21 is celebrating its one-year anniversary and is appropriately spending its record-setting 21st non-consecutive week at #1 on the Top 200 chart. To date, Adele’s LP has sold 7.3 million copies in the US, which means 5.3 million of those were made up of physical CDs or vinyl. [Via Huffington Post]
