Darren Criss And Kermit The Frog Duet For E!’s Pre-Oscar Show

Who knows? Darren Criss could be an Oscar nominee someday, but for now, he’ll just have to play second-fiddle to Kermit the Frog, who joins the likes of Meryl Streep and George Clooney tonight as the star of the Academy Award-nominated The Muppets. (It’s been recognized for Best Original Song for “Man Or Muppet,” of course, and expected to beat out Rio for the win.) Fortunately, Kermit isn’t too high on his Oscar horse to perform with a mere TV and Broadway star, as the pair performed “Rainbow Connection” this afternoon on E! Oscar Countdown. Watch (and see what Darren tweeted about his costar) below.

“At rehearsal with Kermit. And I thought I had a froggy voice! #Muppets #ERedCarpet,” Criss playfully tweeted this morning, along with a photo of him with this green felt friend.
