Justin Bieber — now there’s a face we didn’t expect to see at the Oscars tonight. The pop star made a cameo in the show’s infamous opening montage opposite host Billy Crystal. Below, watch as the anti-texting-and-driving activist helps the comedian pay a hilarious homage to Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris.

After replacing last year’s co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway with Oscar’s emcee veteran, drawing a young audience was clearly still a huge priority for the producers of the 84th annual Academy Awards show.  “I’m here to get you the 18-24 demographic,” the Canadian crooner tells Billy. You sure are, JB.

“BIG SHOUTOUT to Billy Crystal. Thanks for letting be a part of the show and you killed it tonight. #muchlove,” JB tweeted following the show. Did you tune in for the 2012 Oscars? What did you think of the awards show and of Justin’s brief appearance? Tell us below or on Facebook and Twitter.
