In a behind-the-scenes clip of K’naan and Nelly Furtado’s upcoming “Is Anybody Out There” video, we find the pair singing each other’s praises on the set. “Nelly really took this song to the place where it is now,” says K’naan. “Anybody else could have done this song and it wouldn’t have been the same. I think Nelly brings an incredible amount of flavor.” Get an early look at the collaborators below as they hang in the woods and in an old house during the “Is Anybody Out There” shoot. “I was thrilled when he asked me to do it, because when he sent the song to me I just loved it immediately,” Furtado says of working with K’naan. “I just think it’s a very hopeful and sweet, pure song about emotions everybody feels, every day in their lives.”

The upcoming video for “Is Anybody Out There” was directed by Chris Robinson, who previously lensed such clips as Alicia Keys’ “Fallin'”, JoJo’s “Too Little, Too Late” and Jennifer Hudson’s “Spotlight”.

We’ve said it before, but we’re getting more and more excited for the official return of Nelly after her too-long break! Her new LP T.S.I. is due out sometime this year.

“Is Anybody Out There” appears on K’naan’s More Beautiful Than Silence EP (out now on iTunes).
