Just when you thought It Gets Better-esque videos like Pink’s “Perfect”, Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Selena Gomez’s “Who Says” were so last year, along comes K’naan and Nelly Furtado’s “Is Anybody Out There” clip, which finds the pair detailing the troubled lives of Mary and Adam, two down-on-their-luck youths who feel invisible. So is anybody out there? Find out below. To be honest, the video feels a bit like a retread of some of the other clips mentioned above, but at least the song itself is melodic and unique enough — and offers the return of Nelly Furtado! — to stand out.

“I was thrilled when he asked me to do it, because when he sent the song to me I just loved it immediately,” Furtado said of working with K’naan. “I just think it’s a very hopeful and sweet, pure song about emotions everybody feels, every day in their lives.”

“Is Anybody Out There” appears on K’naan’s More Beautiful Than Silence EP (out now on iTunes). Do you think these two do a good job in the video of convincing that things will look up?
