Jay Brannan Covers Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass”

Jay Brannan’s LP Rob Me Blind was just released, and while we offered up an exclusive stream of the “Beautifully” singer-songwriter’s new album last week, it didn’t include his cover of “Super Bass”. While performing in Decatur, Georgia, Jay picked up an acoustic guitar and rapped his rendition of Nicki Minaj’s summer 2011 smash, which is included on the bonus Live From Eddie’s Attic album that comes with orders of the deluxe edition of Rob Me Blind. This is definitely one of the more interesting covers of “Super Bass” — and, at this point, there have been many. We dig how the guitar gives the song an almost forlorn quality, particularly on the chorus.
