There are no two ways about it: the more music we hear from Garbage’s upcoming LP Not Your Kind Of People (out May 15), the more we can’t wait for the damn thing to be released already! Case in point: “Battle In Me”, the album’s first single in the UK. It’s a loud, rockin’ affair that contains some classic Garbage guitar licks and charismatic frontwoman Shirley Manson’s declaration, “It takes a lot to shake me!” Don’t believe her? Listen below. Garbage — “Battle In Me”

“I’ll be damned if I’m done,” Manson sings on “Battle In Me”, a song that very much sounds, musically, like vintage Garbage and, lyrically, a statement on the band’s return after seven years.

Upon first listen, it might not come off as an obvious choice for a single, but the raucous jam crawls under your skin quickly.
