While we wait to hear confirmation that Madonna’s new LP MDNA will indeed be occupying the peak position on Billboard‘s Top 200, the album has already landed at #1 in several countries, including the UK. Her Madgesty now has 12 chart-topping albums to her name across the pond, and the Official Charts Company reports that the “Girl Gone Wild” singer has  passed up Elvis Presley to become the solo artist with the most #1 LPs. MDNA marks Madonna’s 12th album, but not all of her studio releases make up her 12 #1s in the UK. For instance, the greatest hits collections The Immaculate Collection and Celebration both topped the chart there, as did the Evita soundtrack. (2001 hits collection GHV2 just missed the mark by peaking at #2.)

Madonna’s three studio albums to not reach the top in the UK? Those would be first LP Madonna (which peaked at #6), 1992’s Erotica (#2) and 1994’s Bedtime Stories (#2).
