Rihanna Covers ‘Elle’, Talks That Talk About Chris Brown (PHOTOS)

Rihanna managed to change out of her comfy silk jammies to serve as ELLE‘s latest cover girl. For the pop star’s pictorial in the magazine’s May issue, the Battleship star donned everything from a Versace lambskin jacket and skirt to a white Dior skirt paired with a Jean Paul Gaultier bra. According to the mag, the inspiration behind RiRi’s steamy shoot was “a windswept town evocative of documentary photographer Robert Polidori’s shots of deserted, patina-rich Havana interiors.” (We definitely did not pick up on that, as we were too busy gazing at the curvacious “Birthday Cake” singer’s figure.) Head below to hear what Rihanna has to say about her breakup — and make up — with Chris Brown.

“It gave me guns,” Rihanna said of her breakup with Brown and the impending media storm surrounding it. “I was like, well, fuck. They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. […] Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”

She understands that their reconciliation — professionally, at least — caused some people to be upset. “The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently,” she said. “It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”
