Get ready for a chorus of teen shrieks the world over. “Boyfriend” crooner Justin Bieber and on-the-rise act One Direction have teased a duet recorded for JB’s upcoming LP Believe on Twitter. “in the studio with our boy @justinbieber last night, it’s gona sound great,” 1D member Niall Horan tweeted yesterday. (Hmmm. He might want to brush up on his grammar.) Can the Internet handle the collision of the UK boy band’s fans with Beliebers? “Got a first listen to Justin Bieber’s new album yesterday wow big songs!!! It’s funna be a smash … Expect the unexpected,” One Direction member Liam Payne also wrote on Twitter.

And if there were any non-Beliebers left in the Twittersphere, Justin himself chimed in by replying to Liam: “Thanks buddy. Good chillin with u guys.”

Both Bieber and One Direction crashed into the Top 10 on the Hot 100 this week, with their songs “Boyfriend” at #2 and “What Makes You Beautiful” at #9, respectively. Meanwhile, another pal of the Biebs to chart their first Top 10 hit this week is Carly Rae Jepsen, who was signed by manager Scooter Braun for representation in the States, and whose “Call Me Maybe” creeped up to #10 on the chart.

Thoughts on this impending teen pop collab?
