Lil Wayne Announces New Album ‘Devol’
While serving jail time in 2010, prolific MC Lil Wayne wasn’t just storing up anecdotes for a memoir — he was also penning songs. In particular, love songs. Weezy sat down with MTV’s Amanda Seales in Miami for a new weekly talk show called Hip-Hop POV, where he played her his new album and explained that it’s called Devol. (It’s pronounced “devil”, but is actually “loved” spelled backwards). “This is my version of love songs,” Wayne said, adding that it’s material he wrote while he was locked up. Sounds about right, given that one of the biggest hits of the rapper’s career came last year in the form of “How To Love”. So is he going soft on us? Watch Weezy announce his next album below.
