Good news, Beliebers — Justin Bieber‘s music video for “Boyfriend” is a mere two days away from premiering. The visual, which was directed by longtime JB collaborator Colin Tilley, will get its first play on MTV this Thursday (May 3) at 7:50 p.m. during MTV First: Justin Bieber.

As with The Wanted‘s “Chasing The Sun” and Nicki Minaj‘s “Starships” videos, Justin will chat with Sway for a half hour on MTV.com after the premiere. MTV News notes that you can submit questions for the pop teen by commenting tweeting @MTVNews with the hashtag #MTVFirst or #AskBieber.

So far in the various preview clips of “Boyfriend” that were released online, we glimpsed Bieber striking a Michael Jackson-like silhouette in front of a full moon, saw him suspended in water and finally, singing the song’s opening lyrics on a shadowy set where female fingers get a handful.

The song initially debuted at #2 on the Hot 100 five weeks ago, just behind fun.‘s sales juggernaut “We Are Young”. And it’s still hanging in there — currently the Biebs’ lovey-dovey tune is nicely perched at #4.

Do you think the video premiere can push the song over the edge and help it drive to the top position on the chart?
