Nelly Furtado is aiming to prove that bigger truly is better in her “Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)” video — at least according to Chapter 2 of her three-part behind-the-scenes clips. The first segment had her learning the ropes (or hoops, as it were) with Native American hoop champions in a Los Angeles dance studio. And in her newest reveal, the Canadian songstress goes up on eight-foot stilts for a segment of the upcoming visual.

In the clip, Nelly has a back-and-forth with Director X, the who previously lensed her 2006 video for “Promiscuous” and is also helming “Big Hoops”. Basically, X wants Furtado to walk around in a lot on the stilts, while she says she’d feel more comfortable if she had a wall to lean up against. (Yeah, we don’t blame her!)

The vid ends with Nelly looking into the camera and saying, “Mission aborted.” Guess we’ll just have to wait to see the final product to know whether or not the bit with the stilts actually made it in?

The Rodney Jerkins-produced “Big Hoops” is the first first single off Furtado’s upcoming LP The Spirit Indestructible (due out June 19).
