Eager to find out who the next pop sensation from across the pond is who’ll be attempting a career on these shores, following the success of One Direction, The Wanted and Adele? Wonder no longer, as it’s been announced that 2009 X Factor contestant Olly Murs will be opening for 1D on their upcoming summer tour in the States. The 27-year-old Witham, Essex native has already released two albums and racked up chart-topping hits like “Please Don’t Let Me Go” and “Dance With Me Tonight” in his home country. And ahead of his American jaunt, his single “Heart Skips A Beat” (which features Chiddy Bang) will get a release here (on May 22). Give it a listen below.

Reggae/pop tune “Heart Skips A Beat” originally featured UK duo Rizzle Kicks, and became Murs’ second UK chart-topper upon its release late last summer. We can totally hear this working its way onto playlists here and becoming an inescapable summer jam.

A press release notes that Olly’s debut US album will be released in the fall. Does “Heart Skips A Beat” sound like a hit to you? Let us know below!
