Ke$ha‘s new album is due sometime this year (not soon enough for us), and pretty much everything surrounding this album is getting us excited. The beard-munching star has coined her new genre of music “cock pop”, and hert new tune to surface online, “Pretty Lady”, employs both those things in spades. The tune, recorded sometime post-Animal with producer Tom Neville and her singer-songwriter mom, Pebe Sebert, is an ode to men who dress like fabulous women. That’s right, Ke$ha wrote a drag queen anthem. (If anyone was going to, it was going to be Ke$ha.) Listen below.

Ke$ha – “Pretty Lady”

“Big hair, nice rack /High heels, sweet ass… boy, you’re such a pretty lady!” Ke$ha belts out in a fierce war cry. As if her gender-bending celebration wasn’t enough, she taps cameos by drag stars Lady Lloyd and Detox. This, of course, isn’t the first time Ke$h has expressed her love of men who dress up like fabulous women — her “Sleazy 2.0” video was chock full of ’em.

The song, which sounds still in demo form, has a bouncy beat and deliciously fuses together soul, doo-wop and rock. It sounds completely fresh from the pop star’s previous dance-pop material, and yet perfectly captures K-Dolla’s free spirit and love for all things out of the ordinary.

“I want to bring the edge and the rawness and the visceral energy of ’70s and ’80s punk rock,” she recently told V magazine, citing Iggy And The Stooges, Rolling Stones and T-Rex as influences on her Cannibal follow-up. “Some people will be shocked. Some will also be excited to know that I don’t just do silly white-girl rap. I’m from the South, I have a lot of soul.”

There’s no word on whether “Pretty Lady” is set for the new album, but it certainly should be. It should also become the new theme song to Ru-Paul’s Drag Race and retroactively be added to the soundtrack of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, we love it that much. How about you?
