Young Money honcho Lil Wayne pulled the label’s roster of artists scheduled to appear at yesterday’s Hot 97 Summer Jam following a dis by the event’s emcee, morning DJ Peter Rosenberg. “I know there are some chicks in here waiting to sing along with ‘Starships’ later,” he said earlier in the day at New York’s MetLife Stadium, referring to Nicki Minaj‘s current hit. “I’m not talking to y’all now. Fuck that bullshit. I’m here to talk about real hip hop shit.”

Lil Wayne tweeted the following at 3:35 p.m. in response, hours before Minaj was to go on stage: “Young Money ain’t doing summer jam.”

Minaj tweeted later that it was a loss for Hot 97 and, well, history in general. But according to E! Online, she wasn’t just talking B.S. — her set was to include guest appearances by Wayne, Cam’ron, Nas, Lauryn Hill, Beenie Man, Foxy Brown, Birdman and Tyga (who had already performed earlier in the day).

Minaj posted the following on Twitter: “Wow. U niggaz just fucked up history. But the President has spoken. ‪#YMCMB” She then added, “I go above and beyond for my fans. But won’t ever go against wayne’s word. What he says, goes.”

As for Rosenberg, he noted after the Summer Jam ended, “last night i said nothing different than I have ever said…it was not a personal dis..it was starships is shit..WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS TRUE”

Man, having an entire crew of performers pull out of a planned event that thousands of people attended? This guy surely at least got a slap on the wrist by the station boss, right?
