Jewel Loses Her Snaggletooth To Play June Carter Cash In Biopic

Jewel is currently filming a Lifetime TV movie about June Carter Cash‘s life, tentatively titled Ring Of Fire. The singer, songwriter, reality TV judge and actress uploaded a few pics of her in costume, and we almost can’t believe it’s really her. Who knew that changing the color of your eyes and straightening your teeth would make you so unrecognizable?

“Here I am as June in my trailer with her blue eyes and perfect teeth,” tweeted the 38-year-old singer, though it’s unclear if she’s wearing fake teeth or actually got her own teeth straightened. Jewel also uploaded a pic of her and co-star Matt Ross, who plays Johnny Cash. Check it out below.

While the 2005 film Walk The Line focused on the life and careers of Johnny Cash, Ring Of Fire will focus on his wife and collaborator June Carter Cash, from her early days in Virginia to her rise to fame as part of the Carter Sisters.

Jewel certainly has her work cut out for her, as people will no doubt compare her to Reese Witherspoon’s Oscar-winning turn as June in Walk The Line. But we have a feeling she knows how to pull off a convincing performance while managing to stay completely in character.
