Will.i.am has already revealed some of the people who he’s worked with on his solo album, #willpower, including LMFAO, Britney Spears, Shakira, Alicia Keys and her hubby, Swizz Beatz — just to name a few. But he recently told Billboard some other pop heavyweights like Justin Bieber and Ne-Yo are on board too. (Seriously, who isn’t working on this record?) Like his eclectic selection of collaborators, he also cites an array of musical genres when describing how the LP will sound.

“There’s classical s—, like just me and a guitar and an orchestra or me with just an orchestra and a kid’s choir,” he said. “There’s some ghetto, ugly, dirty stuff. And then there’s dance stuff, global world stuff and, like, avant garde, left-of-center, for-art’s-sake music that has nothing to do with getting played on the radio. I’m just art-ing out. It’s pretty diverse.”

Obviously that’s not too surprising considering he’s a bit all over the place when it comes to his ideas. Then again, that explains the numerous standalone singles he released before the full-length album like “Check It Out” with Nicki Minaj and Cheryl Cole. One team effort he’s really proud of is “This Is Love”, which he did with Dutch singer-songwriter Eva Simons.

“Eva Simons is, hands down, the princess of dance music,” he told Billboard. “She was doing it way before everyone was doing it, and she produces her own self. She picks her own effects. She records herself. We have conversations like, ‘So what compressors do you use?’ She sings wonderfully, she writes wonderfully, she’s sexy. She is the real thing. It’s exactly what dance music is about. That’s why I’m so happy and honored to be working with her.”

#willpower is slated to release in the fall.
