Mariah Carey Teases Summer Release

In a year already filled with some major pop releases, we may need to make room for one of the biggest pop divas of all time. Mariah Carey has been dropping some mysterious teases that may lead to a possible summer release for her new LP, her first non-Christmas album since 2009’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

“So.. Summer 2012.. Been in the lab, mixing up some concoctions for you, hope you like it!! #MCSummer2012,” tweeted the artist, including the above photo. MC has been hitting the studio hard the past few months (when she wasn’t busy planning her latest vow renewal ceremony in Paris), collaborating with Jermaine Dupri and Randy Jackson, and she recently performed a new song called “Bring It On Home” during a fundraiser for President Obama.

But a new Mimi due record this summer, with only about two months of summer left? Seems like an extremely brief promo period, no? She should have been releasing teases and dropping hints months ago.

Then again, Mariah has been vague on what this project really is, so it might not be her new album after all.  What else could it be, folks? The first single? An EP? A concert special? Leave your best guesses in the comments.
