50 Cent‘s newest album, 5 (Murder By Numbers), was scheduled to be released today, with a price tag of a whopping zilch for fans. (We would have gladly forked over fifty cents in honor of Curtis’ stage name, but the rapper is happy to give away his new tunes free of charge.) The free 10-track LP has been delayed just a bit, and will now be available on Friday July 6, which doubles as Fiddy’s 37th birthday. One leaked track, “Leave The Lights On”, should keep you busy til then. Listen below, the jump on over to MTV for an exclusive preview of the MC’s other new song, “You Will Never Take My Crown.”

50 Cent – “Leave The Lights On”

“It’s exciting cause I wanted to do something that had a different energy to it,” 50 Cent recently explained of 5 (Murder By Numbers). “Creatively, I kinda created a new little thing to do musically with myself. It’s like oddball features. It’s not exactly what you would expect immediately from me so it’ll be interesting. I’m kinda testing it because I have a Plan B back at the crib. I recorded so many records.”

Fiddy’s not kidding — “Leave The Lights On” carries a surprisingly retro, old school beat and a slinky vibe perfect for grinding up against your love on the dancefloor.
