Here in the States, we had to wait over a year for the domestic release of “Hanging On” songstress Ellie Goulding‘s debut LP Lights, following its initial arrival in the UK and the rest of Europe in early 2010. But these days Ellie is a pop force on both sides of the pond, thanks to her single “Lights” (which is currently at #4 on the Hot 100) — something reflected by her sophomore album’s just-announced release date around the globe.

“Can finally give you all details of my next album! It is called Halcyon and it is coming out on Oct 8th in the UK and Oct 9th in the US,” Goulding tweeted today. The LP’s first single will be “Anything Can Happen”, and the singer is inviting fans to be a part of the song’s lyric video by posting Instagram pics of words from the tune. Seems these are halcyon days indeed for Ellie fans. We’re just wondering who has the more interesting mane of hair lately — Goulding or her boyfriend Skrillex?
