Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)”: Hear The Dance Remix With More Mimi, No Rapping

Mariah Carey‘s new single, the feature-heavy R&B slow jam “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)”, wasn’t exactly the comeback smash fans were hoping for (at least according to our Review Revue of the tune). Though Mimi was catering to her urban audience with the Rick Ross and Meek Mill-assisted original, the pop star has wisely decided to release an alternate version of her new album’s lead single to appease more of her fan base.

“Triumphant (Get ‘Em) (Vintage Throwback Mix)” is obviously a move to get the song played in clubs and dip her toe in the current dance trend (though we’re saved from a dubstep breakdown, thank heavens). But it’s also a ton more captivating than the previous version, and this time Mariah actually gets to sing the whole song instead of being pushed to the sidelines.

The lyrics are still the same generic inspirational words of wisdom, and honestly, the dance beat is on the lazy side. But this is still an improvement over the first version of the single now that Mariah is the main attraction — which she should have been all along. Plus, the re-recorded vocals showcase Mimi’s one-of-a-kind range much better than what we heard in the rap-featuring original.

Which version of “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” do you prefer? The slow jam R&B, or the club remix? Let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below.
