Pound the alarm! Nicki Minaj will reportedly be joining Mariah Carey on the judges’ panel on American Idol, reports Us Weekly. “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” one insider reveals, while another tells the gossip mag that the rapper is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.”

The 29-year-old rapper has previously performed on the Idol stage, lip-synching the hell out of “Starships” earlier this year. If these reports are true, she can teach the contestants about stage presence, confidence, and incorporating at least seven different accents into one song.

Reports also indicate that Randy Jackson, who has been a judge since the first season, will be transitioning into a mentor role, leaving another spot (or two?) on the judges’ panel. Possible contenders have run the gamut, including pop heartthrob Nick Jonas, rapper/producer Pharrell, sexbomb Latin superstar Enrique Iglesias and country singer Keith Urban.
