Rufus Wainwright Marries His Partner In New York

Just a few months ago, Rufus Wainwright released Out of the Game — one of our favorite albums this year, in which the new father sounded positively content. As of yesterday in Montauk, Wainwright’s found one big reason to be even happier: He finally wed long-time partner Jörn Weisbrodt.

Wainwright proposed to Weisbrodt in 2010, after having been together for five years. Immediately after his engagement announcement, he performed at Carnegie Hall and dedicated his song “Alone Together” to his partner.

The couple exchanged vows in front of 250 guests, including the esteemed Yoko Ono, Laurie Anderson and Out of the Game producer Mark Ronson. According to the New York Post, the Montauk reception menu featured lobster rolls and clam chowder fitting, given the location. And as party favors, the couple gifted jars of plum jam that were inscribed with “Rufus+Jorn’s Hochzeit.”
