Love is a powerful force, something more than apparent as we watch Muse‘s video for synthy The 2nd Law single “Madness”. As the electronic tune squiggles along, a young couple meet on a neon-lit subway, only to have a riot break out. The gorgeous woman and tatted-up bloke skirt around the violence and play it pretty cool until they finally consummate their flirtation with a passionate kiss. Not even a SWAT team can keep these two apart — or can it? By the end of the Anthony Mandler-directed clip, the drama is still raging outside the subway as the young lovers sit with their backs to each other inside. Love is powerful…and sometimes fleeting.
