Will.i.am Tweets Anger, Pushes Back ‘#willpower’ Following Leaks
What do Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Redfoo, David Guetta and Britney Spears have in common? They all have more Twitter followers than you! And also, they’re all slated to appear on will.i.am‘s upcoming LP #willpower (pronounced phonetically as “Hashtag Willpower,” we assume). But the hotly anticipated album has hit a snag, after Will’s car was stolen and his laptop and hard drive were compromised by thieves. Though the car was recovered, its (potentially) more valuable cargo — an album’s worth of material — is now being leaked by the culprits. Hashtag sucks.
When a new Justin Bieber/will.i.am collaboration popped up online this morning, Will took to Twitter to vent his frustrations over the theft and resulting leak:
I’m trying to finish #willpower…& now because of all the leaks I have push the album back to make new songs…I will give you updates soon
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 18, 2012
And when a fan suggested that the leaks could serve to help promote the album, Will shut them down:
@netfreeuk when songs are incomplete and your valuables were stolen and people leak your unfinished material. (I have a right to vent) #wow

We empathize with Will’s plight, but hopefully the additional window of time will give him an opportunity to write better lyrics than “Hashtag, you and me/Our love is trending.” Just sayin’.
#willpower was originally due out on October 15.
