Insert relevant “Criminal” lyrics here. Fiona Apple was arrested in Sierra Blanca, TX on Wednesday (September 19) when authorities at a border stop found hashish on her tour bus, according to TMZ. She was en route to an Austin City Limits show (scheduled for tonight) from an Idler Wheel… tour stop in Arizona. The singer was reportedly thrown in jail and is awaiting bail.

Apple earlier this year released her fourth album, the well-received The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. She has been touring in support of the record all over the country, and also made festival stops at Governors Ball and SXSW.

The Texas town of Sierra Blanca has a history of harshing vibes, as Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg have been arrested on similar drug charges there. So, note to musicians with an affinity for marijuana: you may want to ditch your stash — or get through it all — before heading to West Texas.
