Whatcha Say: LMFAO’s Break, Lady Gaga’s Rap & One Direction’s Video Got Our Readers Talking

Robbie Daw | September 21, 2012 5:23 pm

This week One Direction‘s “Live Like We’re Young” video leaked ahead of schedule, an offbeat rap song by (we think?) Lady Gaga surfaced, LMFAO announced that they’re taking a break and a ton of albums — by artists such as Pink, The Killers, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nelly Furtado and Kreayshawn — were released. Our readers could hardly sit still during all this pop madness, and they took to their keyboards to express their thoughts. Head below to see our weekly roundup of the comments that came flooding in!

:: Naomi found reason to party-rock on LMFAO Announce Break, Redfoo & Sky Blu Heading In “Different Directions”: “There is a god. That is all I have to say. There is a god.”

:: Sahhida lived it up on One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young” Video: Review Revue: “Did anyone else drool when they saw Niall with his shirt off? Harry straddling a banana? Niall’s silly faces? Liam’s new hairstyle? Louis slicked back hair? Zayn? I did and more!”

:: Beckah, on the other hand, died while she was young: “The song itself is absolute perfection- it’s my new theme song. And the video just adds to the perfection. It also adds to the extreme SEXINESS of the song. Like Directioners on Twitter have been saying since it was released: How are we supposed to Live While We’re Young when 1D keep killing us with their perfection and sexiness?”

:: Me (who we’re assuming is an 11-year-old…boy) had a medical emergency on One Direction’s “Live While We’re Young” Video: “there go my ovaries…”

:: Marissa got her paws out over one of our editors on Is Lady Gaga Behind “Cake Like Gaga” Rap Song?: “i am a faithful little monster but this sucks – better be a joke. oh and i just wanted to rant – i used to be a faithful idolator reader and follower but erika brooks adickman pisses me off – she is so biased against gaga and its so obvious she hates gaga – cuz of her idolator just lost one of its most faithful followers i used to log into this site ten times a day to get my fill – not anymore”

:: Jamison came to our rescue, though: “i actually think it”s funny that she did this lol. i love gaga and im on idolator all the time; i don’t think they’re biased at all actually”

:: Fail offered some harsh words on Kanye West Vs. Pink Vs. The Killers Vs. Carly Rae Jepsen: Who Won Release Day?: “No surprise about Kreayshawn. She pretty much sucks, and hopefully no one will even remember her five years from now. Nelly Furtado’s discography has been mixed — she’s actually only had one Top 10 album so far (the #1 Loose), and as popular as Whoa, Nelly may have been, she disappeared for a while in the US with Folklore In other words, she’ll probably just make another comeback when she actually releases singles that people care about (‘Big Hoops’ was just a big mess).”

:: Kat was tickled…well, you know what color… on Pink’s The Truth About Love: Review Revue: “Pink’s new CD, much like the singer herself, is amazing. From the title track to songs like ‘Slut Like You’, you are entertained and you want to sing along. LOUDLY. The CD just gets better with every listen. Pink is a force to be reckoned with. BUY THIS CD!!!”

:: kToTheC puckered up for Carly Rae Jepsen’s Kiss: Album Review: “So spot on! Thing is all I expected and more. Every track is at least a little catchy, and the deluxe version throws a couple of tracks out to better showcase her voice. If ‘good time’ or ‘this kiss’ weren’t enough to prove it, we have officially moved past ‘one-hit-wonder’ territory with this album.”

:: Deej murdered the mood on The Killers’ Battle Born: Album Review: “The Killers haven’t released a solid record since their debut Hot Fuss. The subsequent has been dragging on its debut albums coat tails. Brandon Flowers failed solo and has criticized guitar rock as non existent. Nobody needs any more synth, and Brandon Flowers hasn’t written anything worth listening in 5 years at least.”

:: FA added: “Sad to say, I don’t think The Killers will ever make an album as good as Hot Fuss. Like the albums afterward, Battle Born has some good songs, but the rest are blegh. This album, as a whole, is a little too over the top for my taste – it seems kind of cheesy.”

:: Sean was domino dancing over Pet Shop Boys’ Elysium: Album Review: “Great review for a great band. Can’t wait for the new tour they have been mentioning.:
