Khloe Kardashian & Mario Lopez To Host ‘The X Factor’: Report

The news has been rumored for weeks, but now it’s (tentatively) confirmed — according to TMZ, at least. Reality TV glamazon Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez, he of the puppy-dog eyes and Saved By The Bell celebrity, are allegedly set to join as hosts of The X Factor, replacing last year’s nice-but-inexplicable host Steve Jones.

Although “finishing touches” are reportedly being put on the deal, producers are slated to announce the two stars as hosts later this week. The pair will debut on the show in November after the audition episodes wrap up.

The news marks another significant get for The X Factor, as the metaphorical game of chicken to see which televised talent competition can spend the most money on talent reaches its peak. Kardashian should bring in her significant following from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, whereas Lopez adds some value from his tenure on Extra and ’90s nostalgics hungry for more A.C. Slater. It’s a gamble, but given Simon Cowell‘s sharp business acumen, it’s probably one that’s been carefully considered.

Expect an official announcement this week, and get ready for a komplete Kardashian takeover.
