Miley Cyrus Says Jonas Brothers’ “Wedding Bells” Song Is “Pretty Blatant” & Talks Honey Boo Boo

Miley Cyrus has been on a mini-press tour in promotion of her upcoming appearance on Two And A Half Men, and she’s not holding much back when it comes to what she’s willing to discuss: Namely, her obsession with the guilty pleasure show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and how her ex Nick Jonas openly wrote about her upcoming nuptials to Liam Hemsworth in the new Jonas Brothers song “Wedding Bells.

Also, she talked about new music, reiterating that she’s back in the studio with Dr. Luke, which should be enough to scare the rest of the industry into an early retirement — because why even bother trying if those two are readying a follow-up to “Party In the U.S.A.”? Radio isn’t ready.

First up: In her appearance on Chelsea Lately, Cyrus told Chelsea Handler that she’s completely infatuated with the titular star of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, explaining, “I put a home theatre in my house and it wasn’t loud enough, so we got subwoofers so I could hear her extra loud. When I hear her go, ‘Holla for a dolla,’ the whole house shakes.'” As Cyrus notes, her fiance doesn’t watch the show with her — that doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

But on Ryan Seacrest‘s morning show this morning, Cyrus moved on to meatier territory: Namely, her reaction to hearing the Jonas Brothers perform the new song “Wedding Bells” live in New York last week. So is the song about her? Cyrus sounded reasonably confident: “I don’t know who else is getting married, so I feel like that’s pretty blatant — it’s whatever… You can’t ever hate on someone for writing about something you’ve been through. I think that you kind of get a fair warning when you date an artist, and someone that’s a writer. When you’re going through things, you’re going to end up hearing about it on the radio.”

And most importantly, she dished a little more about the process of recording her upcoming album alongside Pharrell and super-hitmaker Dr. Luke. “There’s a good mix on this record of songs that are kind of about things that I’ve gone through and making this album after I just got engaged,” Cyrus said. “But also just some fun party songs too.” When asked when to expect new tunes, Cyrus said, “We will have a single out by the end of this year. Then hopefully next year another single, pretty early in next year, then an album to drop, and hopefully a tour to follow.”
