Taylor Swift Talks “Adventurous” New Album & HBO’s ‘Girls’ On ‘GMA’

Taylor Swift‘s promotional schedule for her latest album Red, which drops today (October 22), must be scheduled down to the minute, but she seemed relaxed and chatty during her Good Morning America interview with George Stephanopoulos earlier today, describing her “adventurous” new sound, which sees her “explor[ing] the edges of what I’m allowed to do.”

As usual, she was tight-lipped about romance, explaining when asked about the current condition of her private life: “I don’t really talk about my love life. I kind of sing about it a lot, because I really think that it sounds more poetic and romantic with music behind it,” she said. “My fans know that I’m going to give them the real version of what happened to me in my music.” Good try, Stephanopoulos!

During a lightning round segment, Swift revealed that she still watches a lot of procedurals, but perhaps the most interesting admission is that she’s a fan of the HBO series Girls, which we would have expected to be too scabrous for Swift’s rather refined taste. Maybe in Season 3, Swift will make a guest appearance as a Bushwick harlot who steals Lena Dunham‘s boyfriend. We can dream.
