One Direction’s “Little Things”: Listen To The Acoustic Ballad

Directioners can finally relax (at least for a minute or two): “Little Things” has arrived. Following up their big splash with lead tune “Live While We’re Young,” the boys of One Direction are back with a new single — and this time it’s a ballad. Their latest song “Little Things” has just premiered on radio, and the Ed Sheeran-penned acoustic track doesn’t disappoint. Listen to the single after the jump.

A guitar-driven ballad with wistful vocals, the song, as promised, evokes “Moments” from their debut LP, Up All Nightwith a sweetness that’s more understated than 1D’s usual polished pop-rock sound. (In short, “Little Things” sounds more like an Ed Sheeran song than a One Direction song — but in a good way.) “I won’t let these little things slip out of my mouth,” the boys harmonize on the chorus over lightly strummed guitar. Given 1D’s massive global following (and the success of “Live While We’re Young”), don’t be surprised when the track dominates radio and iTunes for the foreseeable future.
