Ludacris, Usher & David Guetta’s “Rest Of My Life”: Hear The Dance-Pop Track

Ludacris is the latest rapper to unabashedly jump on board the dance craze with his new single “Rest Of My Life,” featuring Usher on the hook and production from house-master David Guetta. The song is, well, exactly what you’d expect a Ludacris-Usher-Guetta collaboration to sound like: Soaring hook from Ush, Euro-crazed instrumentation from Guetta, and YOLO-rific rhymes from Luda. “They say what don’t kill me can make me stronger/So two drinks tonight should help me live longer,” Luda raps. Heavy sigh.

The track, which is taken from Ludacris’ upcoming album Ludaversal (!!), due out in 2013, pushes all the right buttons as far as pedestrian club anthems go, but certainly doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Usher’s contribution, while predictably euphoric, just feels like a less impressive retread of his vocal work on “Numb,” while Guetta’s track is as radio-ready as anything getting airplay. Expect to hear “Rest Of My Life” for, well, the rest of your life, especially on New Year’s Eve. We couldn’t stop it if we tried.
