Rihanna’s ‘GQ’ Cover Spread: Maybe She’s Allergic To Clothes?

Based on Rihanna‘s barely SFW spread for GQ, we’re starting to think the pop star suffers from a rare, but severe allergy caused by wearing clothing during photo shoots. For the men’s mag’s annual Men Of The Year issue, RiRi dons little more than Stella McCartney undies, Alejandro Ingelmo kicks and a come-hither look. (There are two shots of the Unapologetic siren removing a grey long sleeve shirt, which we’re assuming is because of her aforementioned intolerance of any and all fabrics.) This isn’t the first time the SNL performer has dropped trou for GQ, but it is the first time she’s been this, um, revealing.

Below, the Bajan beauty opens up about what she wants out of her relationships, her career, her music — oh, and that one time she almost got a face tattoo.

On loving her career: “Sometimes a person looks at me and sees dollars. They see numbers and they see a product. I look at me and see art. If I didn’t like what I was doing, then I would say I was committing slavery. ”

On (thankfully) getting talked out of getting a face tattoo: “The tattoo artist said nope, I’m not gonna do it,” she says, “because if you’re looking at your face, it’s right there staring at you.

On what “turns her on”: “I like to feel like a woman. I have to be in control in every other aspect of my life, so I feel like in a relationship, like I wanted to be able to take a step back and have somebody else take the lead. I could absolutely be dominant. But, in general, I’d rather… How do I say this in like a…non-X-rated version?” Insert lyrics to “S&M” here.

On the kind of music she sets out to create: “I want to make music that’s hopeful, uplifting. Nothing corny or supersentimental. I just want it to have the feeling that brings you out of whatever you’re going through. I want it to spark that fire. I want it to be real, authentic, and raw.”
