Remember a few weeks back when we saw grainy video of Kendrick Lamar performing “Swimming Pools (Drank)” on top of a bus in front of the Staples Center? Hordes of people flocked into the streets to watch the hometown MC for the surprise free show, before the police cut his mic and shut off the lights.
Turns out the good kid’s Beatles-on-the-Apple-roof moment was all filmed for Yahoo!’s Crash Concerts series. The official video, which you can watch up top, starts off with local news clips regarding the bottleneck of people in downtown L.A., before K-Dot turns out a crowd-assisted take of his hit single.
