Britney Spears Is Working On A New Album, Says Elijah Blake
Fans left with a sour taste in their mouth by Britney Spears‘ recent guest spot on Will.i.am‘s “Scream and Shout” — and let’s be honest, wasn’t that most of us? — have something new to look forward to, besides more creepy reaction shots from Spears on The X Factor: Singer-songwriter Elijah Blake, who has penned hits for Rihanna and Usher, reported in a recent interview that he’s already working on Spears’ next album.
“I think her fans will be surprised by it,” Blake said. “I would say it’s definitely the ‘unexpected’ Britney in so many ways, in that she’s playing with new textures and stomping on new grounds and genres.” Sounds like new Britney’s on a mission!
And given that recent studio footage showed Spears in the studio with Darkchild, it’s no surprise to hear that he’s at the helm in a big way with Spears’ next project. “From talking to her she’s definitely trying to push the envelope this time,” Blake explained, “and really talk from a more personal point of view and with Rodney Jerkins by her side I’m hella excited. You’re talking about Darkchild, the guy who changes music over and over again and never runs out of ideas.”
Call it a Britmas miracle.
