Azealia Banks’ “BBD”: Hear The Trap-Rave Track

Azealia Banks may have discussed quitting the rap game, but for now she’s still hyping up the release of her debut album Broke With Expensive Taste. While most of us were hungover, disposing of champagne corks and 2013 party swag, Banks uploaded new song “BBD,” which you’ll learn stands for “bad bitches do it” (though Banks does make a reference to Bel Biv DeVoe).

The Harlem rapper tweeted that the song is “trap, but it’s rave.” And wouldn’t you know it, she’s right! It’s got a trap beat, but there’s a jittery energy in the form of the syncopated drum machine and rising bubbles of synth popping throughout. Banks also added that it’s not the first single off her debut, saying that the lead cut will be “Miss Amor.” Hear “BBD” below.
