After “opening up” about the behind-the-scenes “drama” at American Idol on Ellen today (January 15), Nicki Minaj took a break from pumping up tomorrow’s Idol season premiere to perform her single “Freedom.” With a full band, backup singers and a skin-tight red dress, Nicki rapped and sang her way into the hearts of a few dozen soccer mom Barbz. Soak it in, because you may not see her perform for a while (or, at least until Idol decides it needs a ratings boost).
