Prince Promises To “Surprise” Hometown With 6 Last-Minute Jazz Club Shows

Prince announced a set of six shows this week at Minneapolis jazz club the Dakota, and predictably, they sold out right away. The first two gigs are “soundcheck” shows to audition a new drummer, followed by two jam sessions. He’ll close out the residency with a pair of “surprise” shows.

We’re willing to bet The Purple One will break out that mysterious new track“Same Page Different Book” — and hopefully some more material from what we are hoping is his next album. Just don’t expect any grainy videos to pop up on YouTube in the coming days: the club warned ticketholders, “If you are caught with a phone, you will be removed from the venue by security – No exceptions.”
